Creating Connections: One of the most rewarding aspects of our business is the opportunity to connect with our customers on a personal level. We're not just selling clothes; we're creating experiences and building relationships. Getting to know our customers' preferences, helping them find the perfect outfit for a special occasion, and witnessing their joy when they feel beautiful in what they wear is just the best feeling.
Celebrating Individuality: Fashion is a form of self-expression, and we like to think that our boutique is a platform for celebrating individuality. We love the diversity of styles and personalities that walk through our doors every day. From classic elegance to bold statements, there's something for everyone. Being able to empower women to embrace their unique sense of style fills us with pride.
Nurturing Creativity: Running a boutique isn't just about selling clothes; it's about cultivating creativity. From scouting the latest trends to putting together our collections and designing our displays, every aspect allows us to unleash our artistic (some more than others!) talents. It's a constant journey of inspiration and innovation that keeps us motivated and excited about what we do.
Fostering Unity: Working together as a family brings us closer than ever. Each member plays a vital role in the success of our boutique, whether it's managing inventory, handling finances, or providing creative input. The shared triumphs and challenges strengthen our bonds and remind us of the power of teamwork and solidarity. Ok so like all families we have "wobbles" but working together on a daily basis means that they cant last!
Making a Difference: While our boutique may be small in size, we believe in making a big impact within our community. Whether it's supporting local artisans, participating in charity events, or promoting sustainability in fashion, we strive to be a positive force for change. Knowing that our business can contribute to something greater than ourselves gives us a sense of purpose and fulfillment.
In essence, running our family ladies' boutique business is not just a livelihood; it's a true labour of love. It's about embracing the journey, cherishing the moments, and finding joy in the little things. Through our passion, creativity, and commitment to serving our customers, we hope to leave a lasting impression in your lives as well as your wardobes :) x Caroline x
]]>However, what makes this approach truly exceptional is its versatility. The pink tab doesn't exclude other sizes; rather, it invites individuals of various heights and builds to explore the same range. It recognises that curves come in all sizes, and one's height and overall physique also play crucial roles in finding the perfect fit. This strategic blend of inclusivity and adaptability transforms the shopping experience into a positive and empowering journey, allowing women of all sizes to feel confident and beautiful in their chosen garments. By offering a clear and welcoming marker, the pink tab becomes a beacon for those seeking fashion that embraces and celebrates every body, fostering a sense of community and acceptance.
]]>The first and most crucial step in this journey is acknowledging and embracing the beautiful diversity of body shapes that women possess. From hourglass to pear, apple to rectangle, each silhouette is a masterpiece in its own right. No one shape is superior to another; rather, they all contribute to the kaleidoscope of feminine beauty.
For those with an hourglass figure—where the bust and hips are well-balanced, and the waist is naturally defined—the key is to highlight those enviable curves. Fitted dresses, high-waisted bottoms, and belts become your best friends, accentuating your silhouette and celebrating your natural symmetry.
If your hips are slightly wider than your shoulders, you're in the wonderful realm of pear-shaped beauty. Embrace A-line skirts, wide-legged pants, and tops that draw attention to your upper body. By balancing proportions, you'll showcase your inherent grace and elegance.
For those with a fuller midsection and a bust that's broader than the hips, the apple shape is a testament to strength and radiance. Flowy, empire-waist tops, and dresses can highlight your assets, while dark, well-fitted bottoms create a sense of balance and confidence.
The rectangle body shape, characterized by shoulders, waist, and hips of similar width, radiates athletic allure. Create curves with peplum tops, wrap dresses, and belts that cinch the waist, showcasing the strength and poise of your athletic frame.
Knowing your body shape is not about conforming to societal standards but about understanding your unique form and expressing yourself authentically. It's about dressing for your body, not the latest trends. As fashion icon Coco Chanel once said, "Fashion fades, only style remains the same."
Armed with the knowledge of your body shape, curate a wardrobe that makes you feel empowered and confident. Invest in timeless pieces that celebrate your assets and experiment with styles that resonate with your personal aesthetic. Remember, confidence is the most beautiful accessory a woman can wear.
It's important to note that our bodies are dynamic, changing with time, lifestyle, and personal growth. Embrace these changes as a natural part of life, adjusting your wardrobe to accommodate and celebrate the evolution of your beautiful self.
In the end, knowing your body shape is not just a style guide; it's a journey towards self-love and acceptance. Celebrate the beauty that is uniquely yours, and let your style be a reflection of the confident, radiant woman you are. After all, true beauty emanates from the harmony between body and soul.
]]>Closer to home at Blossom Boutique we are heading into the New Year with some amazing, new to us, collaborations. Towards the end of last year we finally made our connection with our newest footwear partners so we are excited to see sandals, mules and other summer styles on the horizon. We have also partnered with a new clothing label, Lily & Me, which we think will bring back the essence of stylish and comfortable jersey and linens to Blossom. ]]>One crucial aspect of the "New Year, New You" ethos is the commitment to self-care. Carving out time for yourself in the midst of the demands of everyday life is not only a luxury but a necessity for overall well-being. Begin by perhaps creating a self-care routine that resonates with you—whether it's indulging in a soothing skincare ritual, practicing mindfulness through meditation, or just clean sheets on the bed! By dedicating time to recharge, you set the foundation for a healthier, more balanced you.
Looking and feeling good are intertwined with self-care. It's all about celebrating your unique features and expressing your personal style. Embracing who you are is the cornerstone of any transformative journey. Recognise and celebrate your strengths, acknowledge any areas for growth without judgment, and foster self-acceptance. ]]>The best dress for we curvy ladies is the lovingly named parachute dress. This dress touches at the chest and then skims the rest! It has the most amazing drape and waterfall feature at the side. It's the perfect combination for perfectly framing or not framing the bits we want to emphasise or forget about. It's also a dress that you can wear and feel amazing in and yet still breathe and eat! Its the best combination ever and again if you are even the slightest bit doubtful whether you can wear a dress or not - lets play!
The "lagenlook" style, which translates to "layered look" in German, is a way of styling that involves wearing multiple layers of clothing to create a unique and textured outfit. Here are our top Blossom Boutique tips on how to achieve the lagenlook:
Start with a Base Layer: Begin with a basic, fitted piece as your base layer. This could be a simple dress, a tunic, like the Nacee or Parachute dress.
Add a Middle Layer: Choose a longer layer to go over the base. This could be a longer shirt, cardigan, or vest. The idea is to create length and depth in the outfit.
Mix Textures and Fabrics: Incorporate a variety of textures and fabrics to add interest to each layer. Consider materials like linen, cotton, wool, or knitwear.
Play with Proportions: Experiment with different lengths and proportions. Combine shorter layers with longer ones to create a visually appealing contrast. For example, a short jacket over a longer tunic.
Utilize Oversized Pieces: Oversized or loose-fitting items work well in the lagenlook style. This includes oversized sweaters, cardigans, or wide-leg pants.
Consider Asymmetry: Embrace asymmetry by choosing pieces with uneven hems or layering items in a way that creates a diagonal line across your outfit.
Accessorize: Use accessories like scarves, belts, and jewelry to enhance the layers. Belting a loose-fitting layer can define the waist and add structure.
Mix Patterns and Colors: Don't be afraid to mix patterns and colors, but try to maintain a cohesive color palette to avoid a chaotic look.
Experiment with Outerwear: In colder weather, incorporate coats or jackets into your layers. Consider oversized coats or long trench coats for added drama.
Footwear Matters: Choose shoes that complement the overall look. Boots, sandals, or chunky shoes can work well with the lagenlook style.
Confidence is Key: The lagenlook style is about self-expression and individuality. Wear what makes you feel comfortable and confident.
Remember that whilst the lagenlook maybe personal, there are no strict rules. Feel free to experiment with different combinations until you find a layered look that suits your taste and style preferences.
]]>Esther's words.....
Most of you know my story by now - but after being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2013, my world completely changed. Words can't explain what it is to hear those 3 not so little words - "You have cancer" Those words never leave you, and the experience is still very much with me today.
I was treated at the Christie and have been clear for 7 years. Unfortunately, life threw me an unwelcome curve ball in 2021 and I found a lump in my neck. After various scans the news was broken that I had secondary breast cancer, and that there were further areas of cancer in my spine and chest area. To add further bad news, I was told that my cancer is incurable. There are absolutely no words to describe how you feel when you receive this news. You just want to be rid of this horrid disease and to be able to enjoy life without the big C hanging over your head.
So I am back at the Christie once again, and receiving the best and cutting edge treatment. Recent scans show that the treatment is helping to reduce the tumours. But I live in hope that I will one day be cured.
To be able to continue to receive such top class treatment, I am once again doing what I am passionate about and will be fundraising for The Christie.
Age and treatment slow me down - so my events are not extreme and a couple are hopefully ones you can join in with too. I have two standard events each year that I take part in but I am always looking for ideas on what activities to complete.
Not forgetting that this is my 10 year anniversary of being diagnosed with primary breast cancer. If I can think of a special event to celebrate my continued progress with treatment from The Christie, I will keep you all posted.
Events for this year are:-
1) Manchester 10K in May (standard event)
2) Skipping challenge - 10 skips everyday (June 2023) Completed
3) 1km everyday in April - Completed
4) Walk of Hope - 10k walk in Tatton Park (standard event) September

]]>So H has asked me to give a review on my faves and the coatigan is absolutely one of my faves. So far this year I have had three! I love the fact that the coatigan is a hybrid garment combining all the best features of a coat and a cardigan in one! The reason for three is that I have a navy and black for best and a black to work in. It keeps me warm when the shop/car is cooler and sometimes at home when I dont want the heating on (much less expensive way of keeping warm and cosy) and is structured enough to wear as a coat when I want to top off an outfit and look smart. The small lapel collar adds a little detail and of course no coatigan would be complete without pockets!
We have lots of fabulous colours available in the boutique, pop in for a try on or message and as always we can invoice x
]]>The world of fashion is vibrant and ever-evolving, where colors play a pivotal role in defining personal style and making a statement. While personal preferences and trends often dictate clothing choices, understanding how different colors complement our skin and hair tones can help us to enhance our appearance and create a harmonious overall look.
Skin tone is a fundamental factor when choosing clothing colors. Skin tones can be broadly categorised into: warm, cool, and neutral. Warm skin tones typically have golden, peachy, or olive undertones, while cool skin tones exhibit pink, bluish, or rosy undertones. Neutral skin tones fall somewhere in between and have a more balanced combination of warm and cool undertones.
Those who want to enhance warm skin tones should gravitate towards earthy and warm colors. Shades like terracotta, mustard, olive green, and warm browns can complement the natural warmth of the skin, creating a radiant and harmonious appearance. Earthy tones tend to bring out the golden undertones in warm complexions, making the skin appear vibrant and healthy.
On the other hand, cool skin tones can shine when dressed in cool, jewel-toned colors. Colors like sapphire blue, emerald green, amethyst purple, and icy pastels can work wonders for those with cool undertones. These hues complement the pink or rosy undertones in the skin, creating a striking contrast that enhances one's overall appearance. Cool colors tend to make the complexion appear more balanced and polished.
Neutral skin tones have the luxury of experimenting with both warm and cool colors. They can effortlessly pull off a wide range of shades, from soft pastels to earthy neutrals and jewel tones. However, they should still be mindful of their undertones. If they lean more towards warm, they may find warm colors more flattering, whereas cooler neutral tones can explore cool hues.
Hair color is another essential factor to consider when choosing clothing colors. Different hair shades can either harmonise with or contrast against clothing choices, affecting the overall look. Blonde hair pairs wonderfully with soft pastels, light blues, and earthy neutrals, as these colors create a delicate and elegant contrast. Brunettes, on the other hand, can embrace deeper and richer shades like deep reds, forest greens, and navy blues to create a striking appearance.
Redheads have a unique advantage, as their hair color often complements warm and earthy tones. Shades like rust, mustard, and olive green can enhance their natural beauty and create a captivating look. Black hair provides an excellent canvas for bold and vibrant colors, such as jewel tones and stark contrasts like black and white.
When it comes to creating a harmonious look, it's crucial to consider both skin tone and hair color. The goal is to find a balance that highlights one's natural features while allowing personal style to shine through. Experimenting with different color palettes and exploring various combinations can help individuals discover the perfect colors that make them feel confident and beautiful.
In conclusion, the relationship between clothing colors and skin and hair tones is a fascinating aspect of the fashion world. By understanding our skin and hair undertones, we can make more informed choices when selecting clothing colors. Whether you have warm, cool, or neutral undertones, there's a wide array of colors and combinations to explore, allowing you to express your unique style and enhance your overall appearance. Ultimately, fashion is a form of self-expression, and choosing the right colors can be a powerful tool in making a memorable statement.
]]>The combinations really are endless with these bags!
Choose your bag (each bag comes with a plain leather strap the same colour as the bag) and then if you'd like add a patterned strap and create your very own combination…any bag & any strap…how will you decide?! We're always happy to advise if you're struggling to choose, just message or email and together we'll find your perfect combination x
A few of my favourites...
Sunflower: A stunning, vibrant, sunflower yellow which works perfectly with the black & white Dalmatian strap |
Navy: Classic & classy. The navy crossbody bag looks super chic with this tri-stripe strap in red, white & blue |
Metallic Pewter: This metallic style will take you from day to night, we love it with the champagne stripes strap |
Enhanced Self-Image: When you wear clothes that fit well and flatter your body type, you're more likely to see yourself in a positive light. This improved self-image can lead to increased self-confidence. We love to advise on the fit of your try ons.
Comfort and Ease: Comfortable clothing allows you to move freely and feel at ease in any situation. When you're not constantly adjusting or tugging at your clothes, you can focus your attention on the task at hand, which can boost your confidence. We often advise ladies who come out of the changing room "faffing" to leave that garment behind!
Alignment with Personal Style: Wearing clothes that align with your personal style and taste reinforces a sense of authenticity. It sends a message to yourself and others that you're true to your identity, which can be empowering.
Positive Attention: When you feel good in your clothes, it often shows in your posture and body language. This can attract positive attention and compliments from others, which, in turn, boosts your confidence.
Empowerment: The right outfit can make you feel like you're ready to conquer the world. It's like putting on armor that helps you face challenges with a sense of empowerment and resilience.
Mood Elevation: The act of dressing up and wearing clothes you love can have a positive impact on your mood. When you feel good, it's easier to project confidence and positivity to the world.
Expression of Identity: Your clothing choices can be a powerful form of self-expression. When you wear items that represent your values, interests, or personality, it reinforces a sense of identity and self-assuredness.
Meeting Expectations: In certain situations, wearing appropriate attire can boost confidence by ensuring you meet expectations. For example, wearing professional attire for a job interview can help you feel prepared and capable.
Boost in Body Confidence: Finding clothes that highlight your best features and make you feel comfortable in your own skin can boost body confidence. This, in turn, can have a positive impact on overall self-esteem.
Psychological Impact: Psychologically, clothing can act as a form of "enclothed cognition," where what you wear can influence your cognitive processes and behavior. Wearing clothes associated with confidence and success can actually help you perform better and feel more self-assured.

]]>Identifying and acquiring new products is actually a bit of a lengthy process, but it’s always a journey worth making when we get to see brands like Joe Browns on our rails. So who is Joe Browns and where did it start? Read their “about us” on their own homepage and you’ll hear about a group of friends, sharing a beer, after a surfing session on a beautiful beach in ……. North Wales! I really wasn’t expecting that! They talk about their designs using descriptions like boho, but what does this word actually mean? The definition of "boho" is mixing artistic colours and textures and that’s more than obvious in their fabrics” So did we get it right? It’s a huge leap of faith bringing a well known but "new to us" range into a small boutique like ours. To help to make these important decisions we could spend hours analysing our webs sales to see what sells best, to see if certain products have done well, or were well received but it’s not just about that. We believe at Blossom, that our huge family of customers are comfortable enough to help us to make these choices! That's why we ask and pre-order from time to time, so that we know that you are getting exactly what you want. We are loving Joe Browns and it seems that you are too. Stick with us this year for a whole new Blossom Boutique.
]]>We aired this post on Blossom Boutique last night and it got a great reaction but we thought that with your help we could do better. This wonderful woman, this lovely lady and her fabulous team deserve all the support that we can give them so that they can selflessly help others. Maybe you work for the council or social services, the NHS or for a large organisation and you can ask to get this onto your intranet?
For anyone who doesn't know this lovely lady this is Helen, one of the kindest, funniest ladies we have ever met and ladies, she has a ginormous heart! 💕
Helen set up the community group SASS which is a group all about celebrating women, learning from one another and getting advise/support with absolutely no judgement or criticism. This week Helen is asking for donations or tinned/packet foods, bras (old or new) and old spectacles as she supports some amazing local causes. If you have any of these items ladies please please 🙏🏼 feel free to drop them at Blossom Boutique and we will get them to Helen for you x 💕💕

First of all the name of the brand has the most beautiful story behind it. It refers to postcards which one of the designer's mum's used to send her when she was away having treatment in hospital, she didn't want her daughter to know how ill she was and so she would send postcards pretending to be away travelling the world.
At the heart of the brand is caring for the planet - most styles are made from wood pulp viscose jersey and both the fabric and garment make up is here in the UK in Leicester where the brand is based. Every last garment is considered around how a wearer can wear it in many different ways, these styles are certainly designed to last year after year and not just for one season or trend. Your price per wear on these styles will be so low after you've worn them again and again.
Here's how I styled just one piece, the Shirty top - a plain black style with chiffon sleeves and back - I layered over the Sammy vest & wore with leggings, over the Nancee sleeveless dress, the Milly skirt and then just with jeans. I added the abstract leopard snood to add a little pattern. Such a versatile piece and one you'll definitely be reach for over and over again.
All styles are available online (Shop A Postcard from Brighton here) or in our beautiful boutique, pop in for a browse and a try on.

Firstly, as a mummy to two very energetic girls, my number one gift would be sleep! A whole week of sleep please! Or, as that doesn't seem to be an option, I would love a new Joma bracelet to add to my collection and wear every day, I would stack it with my other Joma Jewellery.
Shop Joma Bracelets here....Joma Jewellery
When we asked my Gran she said 'Any gift from Blossom is a gift in itself' We love that Gran! If I was choosing a present for you I think I would be drawn to the Envy jewellery. Gran is great at layering jewellery and uses different styles and lengths to create completely different looks from the same outfit.

My top tip would always be a Blossom gift voucher. These can be bought online or in store and can be spent online and in our boutique too. This way the lucky recipient gets to browse lots of lovely goodies and buy whatever they want.
If you have any problems purchasing or choosing just ask. We are here to help and we really do love to chat to you.
]]>Good morning. Its all about me today! Hayley challenged me to do an open and honest introduction to our ladies and said that she would then follow suit. Ok H here I go!
Firstly the reason for this is that we have lots of new followers, so hello and welcome to all those who have joined us lately or who are dipping in and out and wondering whether to stay or not. We (Hayley and I) spend a great deal of time in front of the camera and on here talking about and posting photographs of clothes and accessories. What we dont always do is share with you our experiences of clothes and accessories and how "real" we are. Here goes... 😜
My name is Caroline and I am not a "clothesholic", shock horror. I like to look nice sometimes, but I suppose I am a little too fast for my life at times and would be better suited to dungarees and toe capped boots! I love to climb ladders, hammer nails and I will absolutely be the one emptying the hoover and trying to make it suck better and work more efficiently. I am a happy person and love my life. My fall outs are usually with myself, Im short and overweight and my goal at this stage in my life is to get back to wearing pretty underwear and to look good in jeans, but I am not losing sleep from this, I am just taking positive steps, the first being to remember to include myself on my daily list of "things to do" - whether its time to blow dry my hair or read a book. Just a tiny bit of me time. Im not very good at taking care of myself, I would rather lecture others about how to look after themselves - and I know lots of you are the same.
Caroline - I am 54 years of age and soon to be 55 and I love love love these numbers. They mean that I am alive and that cant be a bad start. I am married to Phil, only two years married in September and still definitely in the honeymoon period. We have the same tastes in boats and music and boats and food and boats and cars and boats.. yes we love being on the water. Phil is my rock, my anchor, my soulmate. We are crazy together, we dance like idiots in the kitchen after a good night out, we get up in the middle of the night with no planning to go on fabulous days out and we just generally have fun. We love our kids and grand kids and we are starting a whole new chapter of our lives together and loving every minute. If we have a row (only one or two so far) you will all know about it, thats when its Thundering and lightening over Hambleton! We get it all out there and move on.
Clothes and Blossom. I have to admit that it is great being surrounded by beautiful things and I have had some "moments" that will stay with me forever (I once got stuck in one of Joannas stunning jumpsuits that unfortunately was lime green - I couldnt stand up straight it was so small, so I looked like a big green frog!) Im human and I am a Taurean, I love fine wine and good food. I have lost weight for two weeks on the trot at Slimming World so both times I rewarded myself straight after class with a meal at Twelve restaurant! Not only is that not clever, it means that my slimming is costing me about £110 a week! I will get there, I am determined and I will be posting more about my size and shape if you can handle it and how Blossom clothes fit me. I want to share my bra stories, how my quest to get into nice undies is going (I wont share pics promise) and what I struggle to wear and what I love. If it suits me tell me, if it doesnt speak up. You thousands of ladies are all my new best friends, so if anyone says to me, "what the hell are you wearing that for?" I will know that you didnt play nicely. -
All my love - Caroline x
With lots of building work about to begin in our house it has meant that we have had to sort out all of our clothes, I mean all of them...even those in the 'I will definitely fit back into these one day' draws! I started to plan my major clear out, where to begin? Moo! Throughout the whole process I have had the lovely Moo in my head..'Capsule wardrobe Hayley, Price per wear, Timeless, Versatile...' With Moo in mind and the thought of having to pack away everything other than what I'm keeping out for the duration of the build, I set to it and started to create my new capsule wardrobe. Here it is ladies, here are my own new wardrobe essentials which I think create a great foundation and of course I will be adding new pieces throughout the season (I'm only human!). I must admit it felt great to be able spend time putting together outfits and thinking about all the different occasions (meaning days of the week!) I can wear one item for.
1. Vero Moda shape up jeans - If you've been following Blossom for a long time you maybe sick of hearing about these jeans so please forgive us - we just love them! We have stocked these jeans for almost 6 years now at Blossom and we have never had anyone say they don't love them - they are incredible. They lift your bum in all the right places, they wash beautifully, no baggy knees here! At just £34 (£30.60 if you have a loyalty card) the price per wear is incredible - I wear these jeans 5 out of 7 days every single week, If I did that for just 6 months my price per wear would be 18p!!! I have had my current pair for way over a year. They really are a must - available in sizes XS-XXL which translates to UK size 8-20 and in three leg lengths 30", 32" and 34" (If you need any help with sizes please just message.
2. Vero Moda Oversized sweatshirt & joggers - Being at home with my two girls and being sat at an office desk a lot of the time I need to be comfortable. As soon as this set arrived I fell in love! Usually I don't wear anything oversized, I'm only 5ft 2 (and 3/4) so it makes me feel short and stumpy, however - I absolutely love how this fits, the sweatshirt is longer at the back (perfect for keeping your kidneys warm) and the trousers are a straight leg with cuffed hems. I went for the cashmere blue but think I may also add the grey to my collection - again at £50 for the set (£45 with your loyalty card) if you wear this set once a week the price per wear is 86p!
3. Vero Moda Blue Denim Utility Jacket - This jacket is so me! As you can probably tell by now I am all about comfort. I have wanted a denim jacket for years but never found one which fit my properly or wasn't really stiff - until I found this one! Made from 100% Tencel which is so soft and also kind to the environment - winner winner! I bought this last spring as a lightweight jacket for warmer days, I wore it all throughout my pregnancy (unfastened!) and it even made a few appearances this winter over a plain roll neck. This is defiantly a piece I will be wearing year after year.
4. Vero Moda Polka Dot Tops - If you haven't tried our Vero Moda organic cotton t-shirts then you're missing out! I have the plain t-shirt in most colours and I have now added both the black & white polka dot styles to my wardrobe. They are so soft against your skin, a lovely relaxed fit and they look great with jeans, joggers and smart trousers. Made without the use of harmful chemicals they are not only kind to your skin but also the environment. At £18 (£16.20 with your discount card) even if you only wore them twice a month (you'll definitely wear them more!) your price per wear would be 67p.
5. Vero Moda loose string trousers - Oh my! I am such a jeans girl and never like the way joggers look on me - that is until I tried on these! I fell so deeply in love that i've ended up with both black and navy, oops. They are ultimate comfort and I think they look amazing and smarter than a normal jogger. They have an elasticated waist with drawstrings and those all important pockets. I have worn mine with my pumps so far but they'll be great with sliders or sandals in the Spring/Summer. At £35 (£31.50 with your discount card) if you wear them once a week then the price per wear is 67p!
6. Vero Moda Blue Knit - This knit it is perfect for this time of year, a lovely fine knit and a beautiful colour. I tried this on for a picture thinking it is not usually something I would wear but I absolutely loved it on, a nice change from my usual black, grey or khaki. I wear this with both shape up jeans (It looks nice with both the medium and the dark denim) and the loose string trousers in navy, it will look fab with white jeans in the summer too. Again made from 100% organic cotton so kind to your skin and the planet. At £22 (£19.80 with your discount card) if you wore this knit for 6 months of the year your price per wear would be 85p over 12 months!
Last but not least...
7. Vero Moda Wide leg paper-bag trousers - I know we may not be making many restaurant reservations right now (hopefully soon!) but these trousers are so my style. We have stocked them for a while now but I haven't been able to try them with being pregnant (VM really need to start maternity!). These are definitely going to be my new go to smart trousers - I love the wide leg and the loose belt is great for drawing the eye away from my tummy - winner winner! The elasticated waist is really comfortable making them the perfect trousers for a meal at Twelve - saves me having to undo my top button! At an unbelievable £28 (£25.20 with your discount card) these trousers really are a timeless classic, if you wear them 6 times a year your price per wear will be £4.20 and I can assure you you'll be wearing them for years to come.
So there you have it ladies, these are my 7 must haves for now - they make up endless combinations just with those 7 items, I think I could get close to 20 combinations! I'd love to know your wardrobes must have ladies - is there one piece you've had for years? We'd love to see!

When I conduct style consultations, my goal is to ensure that my client feels as positive as possible in her clothing choices. In order to do this they need to make her feel her best and are comfortable for her. This varies dramatically from client to client – some love tailoring, some love flowering prints and lace, others love more edge or flamboyance. The more your wardrobe marries with your inner self the more confident you’ll feel about yourself.
So the areas I start with in a style consultation is: a client’s style personality to make sure her clothing reflects who she is; her body shape to ensure she uses fabrics and shapes to flatter her as much as possible; her colours as these can make you look younger, healthier and dare I say slimmer; and finally her lifestyle to ensure her wardrobe matches what she spends her time doing. All of this helps stop wrong costly purchases in the future and saves money. It means every time she opens her wardrobe she feels happy as she knows every piece will make her feel confident.
There are an infinite number of style personalities but I like to hone them down to six. Now don’t worry you can be a split personality – so one at work and one out of work. You can also split yourself between two style personalities – which I do. I love analysing a client’s style personality as it is important not only for your clothing style but also hair and shoe choices. It can even extend to the new must have accessory of the year – face masks. So let’s have a bit of fun and work out which one you are…obviously these masks are now necessities but it doesn’t mean they can’t reveal your style personality. Which one is more you?
Creative - Homemade or from alternative retailers such as Etsy
Dramatic - Bold or textured fabric that makes a statement
Romantic - Feminine and pretty pattern or plain and sparkly
Classic - May have several masks to co-ordinate with different outfits
Natural - Plain and disposal so it doesn't require washing
City Chic - Plain and understated in a neutral colour
I love going through a boutique and seeing at a glance different style personalities hanging up. Imagine we are strolling through Blossom boutique and picking up garments as we go, this is what they reveal…
This has dramatic written all over it. They like to make an impact and have people notice what they are wearing. Catherine Zita-Jones is a dramatic.
A Breton stripe is always in a classics wardrobe. In fact they have them usually in lots of different colour ways. A classic may struggle with casual wear (they loathe jeans with trainers) and we work on different solutions that they feel more comfortable with. Classics always chose style over fashion and are well groomed with matching shoes and handbag. Think of Jackie Kennedy or Reese Witherspoon.
A romantic loves flowers. They also are a fan of lace and detail. So they may have bows on their accessories or pleating on a shirt. They wouldn’t go out with perfume or lipstick on. Think Kylie Minogue.
A city chic style personality is a huge fan of neutrals. Everything works together in their wardrobe and they often colour block. They love accessories. Catherine Duchess of Cambridge was a true classic but she’s now much more a city chic.

I think lots of us have a touch of a natural style personality nowadays. Comfort is very important to them and they would never wear anything that pinches or restricts. A full on natural style personality may need help with what to wear to work or out that still makes them feel themselves. Jennifer Anniston would be classed as a natural.
More is more for a creative. They love a colour, pattern, fabric clash and combine things fabulously. Their shoes don’t need to match anything! I often say to a creative – let’s take 1 or 2 things off! I am part creative! Helena Bonham Carter is a great example.
Bear this in mind when you’re shopping. You want what you wear to be an expression of you. Knowing your own style can bring so much more confidence and ease of dressing every day, as well as saving you money in the long run. I’m here if you need any more advice at www.moostyle.co.uk or please find Moo Style VIPs on facebook for style short cuts and tips. I’ll also keep popping up at Blossom Boutique both in person and in line – so keep an eye out for me. I’m the one with the creative and natural split personality!
]]>Body confidence, body shaming, body positivity, body body body is everywhere we turn. Since owning Blossom we have met so many incredible ladies, thousands of ladies either in person or whom we have chatted to online and almost every single lady has had some hang up or another about their body, no matter what size, shape, age they are. I am guilty of this myself just as much (if not more) than anyone but I cannot believe the way we talk about our bodies, the way we prod & poke at them and squeeze and squish the bits we don't like - this is where I believe the treating yourself as you would treat others comes into action. Would you poke a friend in the tummy and suggest it's time they shifted the baby weight? Or would you remind them of the incredible job that their body has done in creating, carrying & birthing a whole human being? Would you grab a friends arms and wobble them saying they need to work on their bingo wings? If a friend tried on a dress and it didn't fit would you tell them to be disappointed & frustrated or tell them to simply get the next size up, no one sees the label any way? It seems that when we look in the mirror or down at the bodies we have we are drawn to the bits we don't like but we wouldn't even notice these 'flaws' if they were one someone else?!
Our bodies are flipping amazing ladies and we need to celebrate the bits that we do like and yes maybe work on the bits we don't but do not focus on them, do not point out all the negatives and ignore all of the positives. I know that I need to shift a few pounds and this is something I am trying to do though exercise and maybe cutting back on the takeaways (I bloody love takeaways!), but just as important as getting into shape is learning to love the body that I have and what it does for my every single day.
Being a mummy to two little girls I constantly praise them on achievements, something I think we should do more for ourselves. If you've drunk one more glass of water then yesterday, walked 100 more steps or given away your last malteaser then well done you! You're doing amazing and picking up on the positives and trying to ignore the 'negatives' will only lead to more victories in the long run.
Please join me ladies in trying to be kinder to ourselves, I am looking forward to sharing my best bits with you, no more wobbling & poking! Lets treat ourselves as we would treat those we love and let's see wonderful things happens xxx
